About Campground SEO
I'm Christopher Ross. I've been building things on the web since 1996, and these days the focus is helping small businesses market themselves online rather than the technology underneath it.
A family campground's Google listing matters to that family exactly as much as a university's search visibility matters to the university, so it gets the same standards. My larger consulting work, universities, media companies, government teams, runs under my own name at thisismyurl.com, the practice I've built over three decades, priced for that scale of project. Campground SEO is a separate practice, built specifically for campground and RV park owners: the same craft, a plainly-priced fee sized to what one park actually needs, three sizes from $1,200, one payment each. What you get is yours, at every size. See what each size includes.
Same person, same standards, different job.
Why campgrounds
Because the work is unusually fixable and unusually neglected, and because the failure modes are seasonal ones I recognize.
I'm a sailor. I've spent my life on the water, and a boat teaches you what a five-month business feels like from the inside: the whole year is decided by weather you don't control, the money arrives in a hurry and then stops, and the work that would have saved you in July is work nobody has time for in July. It has to get done in the quiet months, by somebody whose season isn't the same shape as yours.
I want to be careful here, because it would be easy to oversell it. I've never run a campground. I don't know your gate, your septic, your long-weekend staffing problem, or what a bad Saturday costs you. What I know is search, and what I recognize is the rhythm: the shoulder season where your listing is wrong and nobody notices, the February calls from people planning a July trip, the October week when the phone stops and everything you meant to fix gets put off until spring. That rhythm breaks Google listings in ways that a year-round business never runs into, and almost nobody writes about it.
How I work
Fixed price, agreed before anything starts, paid once. No monthly retainer, because most single-park situations don't need one and I'd rather tell you that than sell you one.
You keep everything. The Google Business Profile is claimed under your login, not mine. The photos, the review link, the pages if you go that far, all of it is yours and keeps working whether or not you ever hear from me again. I've seen too many small operators discover that the vendor they parted ways with still owns their listing, and I'm not going to be that vendor.
I'll also tell you when something isn't worth paying for. If your park is the only one within forty miles and you're booked out every weekend regardless, I'll say so, and I'll point you at the two things you could fix yourself in an afternoon instead. That's a worse sales pitch and a better conversation.
Where to start
Email [email protected] with your park name and where you are. Within one business day you'll hear back from me directly with the two or three things I'd fix first, including the ones that cost nothing.
If your park also needs the website itself built or rebuilt, Campground Web Designer is the sister site for that, run by the same person.
